Sunday, Looking Forward and Back

Hi everyone.  Just a quick entry tonight.  Just wanted to check in and let everyone know that I had a pretty decent weekend.

 

We stayed in last night and watched the USC game.  Boy that was too close and they almost lost.  I was sweating bricks!  LOL

 

Today it was the weekly Nascar party at my mom and dad's.  He loves to bbq but this chick is eating salads before I become enormous!  LOL  Kasey Kahne got inside the top ten, yippee!

 

I want to send prayers and well wished to my Aunt and Uncle.  My Uncle's mom will be having a surgery on her corroded artery tomorrow morning.  I pray that everything goes well and that there are no complications.  Luv you all.

 

Also I wanted to send some prayers to my online friend Jae in Washington state.  Her son has been very sick and I want to see him get well very very soon.

Mid Week Malaise

Hi Everyone!  I haven't really been around for a couple of days because I have been feeling kinda down.  I don't know that I really have any good reason for feeling this way, yet here I am.

 

I did just download Carrie Underwood's latest released single entitled "So Small".  It is the video that I downloaded and of course Carrie is as pretty as ever in it.  I can't wait until next month when her album finally is released.  I have forgotten for two days now to go to Best Buy to pick up Rascal Flatts latest album.  I think if I didn't have my head attached firmly on my neck I'd forget that too!  LOL

 

I just wanted to let Phil and Christine know that I am thinking about you all and Phil's mother.  I'm saying my prayers and hoping things continue to work out OK for her.  I love you both.

 

I also wanted to say it was so nice chatting with my sister Carrie yesterday, but online chats aren't the same as being on the phone, which is also not the same as being there.  I love you my sweet sis and miss you so very much.  I hope it won't be too long until I get to see you again.

 

Anyhoo, enough of the family hour.  I hope everyone out there had a bright Wednesday and that your Thursday will be just as good.  Remember to be positive and keep love in your heart always.  TTFN

I agree that I may be spoiled but I don't look at myself dependent on people.  Maybe I am.  I know I am not demanding particularly.  I am creative that's for sure. I guess I do like being babied, but then again who doesn't?   I do have a connection with children and animals.  I don't think I am high maintenance but I do agree that I am very loyal. 

My Yesterday

Happy Sunday to Everyone!  I had a blast yesterday and last night.

 

Heather and I went with her family to the USC game last night.  We left earlier and did some tailgating.  So many nice people out there enjoying a good meal and of course some drinks as well.  It was so much fun.  Can't wait to do it again.

 

Then we made our way into the Coliseum.  Last year I found myself in the Student section, but yesterday it was in the Alumni side of the field.  Not too far from the tunnel where the players emerge.  It was so much fun, did I tell you that already?  LOL 

 

Then during the first quarter it started raining pretty good for a brief period and was followed by the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen.  It rained enough that it got me all wet and my hair was soaked!  I looked like a drowned rat! LOL  Heather on the other hand looked just as beautiful.  If I had her natural beauty I would so happy!  She said that I looked all cute when I was soaked.  Anyway, I didn't believe one second of that, but I had fun anyway.  Especially since the Trojans kicked some serious Cougar butt!! 

 

Next week they will be in Seattle to face the Washington Huskies.  Are you going to the game Carrie?  Maybe you could go check it out Jae?  I know how much you like football!!  LMAO

Thursday Thanks

Hi everyone.  How are you?  I'm fine.  It's been kinda  along week.  Very busy working, in fact had to fill in for someone's anger management class yesterday.  That was interesting to say the least.

 

Thank you so much to Lisa and Phil for doing my questions, I truly appreciate your taking the time.  Well, it is another night without Rene.  He just left to head to work for another overnight shift.  He won't be back until six or seven in the morning.  So poor little ole me is home alone.  I could have gone over to mom and dad's but I think I have been too much a pest lately, and besides I can use the time alone to just veg.

 

Well, that is about all for me tonight.  I hope you all have a wonderful Friday.  Just one more day until the weekend.  I get to go to the USC vs Washington St. game on Saturday.  I'm looking forward to it.  Luv ya!  TTFN

10 Q Tag

Hi Everyone!  I hope you had a fantastic Monday . . . yeah right Allison!  LOL  Mine was OK.  Back to work of course.  I've been tired for two days now, but I'm not admitting I had too much to drink on Saturday night.  No, I'm not in denial  . . . I just refuse to admit anything incriminating.  LOL

Question one:  What one physical thing would you change about yourself?

I think I am mostly happy about my physical shape with the one exception of my thighs.  If I were a chicken at KFC I'd be meaty to say the least.  I can't help it, it is a family trait.  Some of the less fortunate women in the family are worse off.

 

Question two: Out of these emotions, what percentage would you rate yourself as it pertains to your normal everyday life?  Equal them to 100%.

When I used to answer this question without hesitation I would say Lindsay Lohan, but now she just doesn't fit who I am.  I'd have to say someone like Scarlett Johannson or Kirstin Dunst.

 

Question seven: How important is it for you to be liked by others?

I consider this to be important.  I am not necessarily looking to be idolized others but I do want them to like me and who I am.  It bothers me when someone for no apparent reason doesn't like me.  I know not everyone can like you but part of me thinks that they can.  Naive I know, but you can't blame me for trying.

 

Question eight:  If you saw your best friend's boyfriend with another girl and they were kissing, would you tell your bestfriend what you had seen?

That is a difficult one, but if my best friend meant so much to me and we were close, I would have to tell her.  I couldn't let her not know what her boyfriend may or may not be up to.  There could be a simple explanation, but I wouldn't want my friend to find out a harder way.  I've been there and done that.

 

Question nine:  Name to musical artists you really like and why?

This is easy.  I like Carrie Underwood, and not because her first name is the same as my sister.  I like her because I really love her voice and songs, I have been following her ever since American Idol.  She is such a good person and she is very wholesome, unlike someone like Britney Spears.  The second one would be Enya.  I just love her music.  It is so relaxing and if I have an upsetting day I will pop in her cds and meditate.  It does the trick everytime.

 

Question ten: If you had one wish given to you, and you could have anything you wanted, and you couldn't wish for more wishes, what would you wish for?

I'd have to say that my wish would not be for something for me per se.  I would use my wish to stop disease in the world.  It is a simple wish but it would have a great impact on society an no one would have to be treated for anything again.  Of course there would be implications like the population of the world would dramatically increase, so maybe it isn't a logical wish, but a wish from my heart.

Yeah Baby!

I just wanted to stop by tonight so I could gloat a little bit!

 

My Trojans beat the Nebraska Cornsuckers in Lincoln tonight.  I wish I was there.  I love going to games.  I will be going next week when they play Washington State.  Also, those UCLA Bruins got their butts kicked by Utah!  LOL  Too bad Michelle, so sad for your alma mater!   

 

I'd better end this short entry because this party girl tonight has had a few LOL.  I've had a fun night and hope the evening doesn't end to early.  Anyway, Luv ya!  TTFN

TGIF EVE

Hi everyone.  Not much going on here tonight.  Went to work and it was a pretty good day . . . the day seemed to go by rather fast.

 

Then after work I went and had my hair done.  It is always relaxing to have someone messing around with your hair.  I felt like I was about to go to sleep LOL.

 

Tonight it was time to watch Big Brother with my mom.  We weren't to excited about the outcome.  The Donatos will both be in the final two which means one of the will win $500,000 and the loser will get $50,000.  If I had to choose I would give it to Daniele, the lesser of two evils.

 

I'm a little worried about my friend Brandi who wrote in her journal about a hurricane coming her way.  I hope she and her family are all OK.

Feeling a bit Down

Hi everyone.  I have been a bit lonely this week and it is kinda getting me down.  Rene is at work, he has had to work the overnight shift this week.  I don't like not having him in our bed at night.  I like being able to cuddle and maybe a few more things, but he isn't there.  OK, I know you are saying stop the pity party Allison.

 

I did just get off of the phone with my sister.  I miss her so much.  We always had our sibling rivalries, but we were always close.  Now she is married and moved to Washington state.  At times I feel like I will never get to see her again even though I know that isn't true.  She is doing fine and enjoying her life and is very upbeat, something she has always been.  If you are reading this Carrie I love you, you silly party girl!  LOL

 

I don't like sitting here depressed.  So let me talk about something else.  Let me see . . . oh yeah.  Did anyone see Britney Spears on the VMA awards show.  It was supposed to be her big comeback and it was a flop.  I guess she came very late, like three hours late, to the rehearsal.  She had had a few drinks.  She didn't perform the dance moves the way they were supposed to be done and it was a complete flop as some in the audience were laughing.  I feel sorry for this girl.  She is so messed up.  Of course some of the attention was taken off of her when Tommy Lee and Kid Rock got into a fight presumably over Pamela Anderson.

A Reflection and Two More Questions Answered

I have the answers to two more questions, but before I do that I wanted for everyone to be able to reflect upon the sixth anniversary of the worse day in American history.  So many innocent people were lost and for no real reason other than to cause mayhem.  So many other countless lives were interrupted and will never be the same.  Reflect upon what it means to be an American and what it means to be free.

That is a pretty vague question.  I don't know that I could pinpoint just one thing, but I guess my favorite thing is my love for my husband.  That means more to me than anything.  I sustains me day in and day out.  Without it there would be something missing.  So I guess that must be what my favorite thing is.

Allison, I finally have a question for you, what is your idea of a perfect day ? Hugs Lisa

 

My idea of the perfect day is to wake up beside my honey right before sunrise and go outside and watch the sun come up.  Then making sweet passionate love off and on all day.  Very very simple but very intimate and loving.  No worries and just happiness, that is my perfect day.  My perfect day will probably change once I have children, but for now I sticking to this!

For one day, you get to take on the life of a fictional character. Who would you choose?

 

This is such an interesting and difficult question.  I'm going to cheat just a bit if you don't mind.  I am going to say that I would like to be a cross between Athena and Aphrodite.  Maybe you could call the character Athenodite.  LOL  The reasons for this is that I would love to be philosophical and full of wisdom like Athena, yet at the same time be a goddess of love like Aphrodite.  I know a lot of you are saying, dang Allison, this is all Greek to me!  LMAO  Athena is very cunning and very strong willed and will go to war if need be whereas Aphrodite does show some strong will if crossed she is someone that is very passionate when it comes to matters of the heart.  So it may be sort of a cop out, but I have combined these two to make one, sort of a fictional character born from my imagination.

 

Keep those questions coming!!  I am having a ball with them can't you tell?

Hi Everyone!  I see I have some more questions to answer.  Yippee!  I think this is so much fun.

I always want to ask people really deep questions, but sometimes I just like to know something basic and down to earth. So this question is basic. Would you say you're as happy as you can be at this moment? What would you do tomorrow to make your life happier?

 

Well JP, I'd say that I am extremely happy at this moment of time.  I've always generally been happy, but embarking on the career path I have chosen and getting married has made me a much more grounded woman.  To make my life happier tomorrow, well tomorrow meaning a few years down the road hopefully, I will start my family.  That will be such a wonderful thing.  I want a family of my own so badly.

Here are my questions...................

1)  What is it like to be Young in todays world ??

I don't think that you are old by any means.   And  you are handsome as well.  Being young in today's world, I guess compared to maybe an earlier generation can be described as being more hectic.  I'm thinking that there is so much more to do, or going on.  More things to be able to get in trouble with as well.  So many people my age, and younger, get themselves into trouble faster and feel that they are entitled to a great life without earning it in my opinion.  I know people aren't as fortunate as I am but I wish they would put the effort to do their best.  It is a complicated question and I'm sure I could come up with more ideas if I thought longer.  I do enjoy being young and I am having the time of my life.  I hope I enjoy whatever age that I am lucky enough to reach.

2)   Is it optimistic or depressing ??

From me you will only get an optimistic point of view.  I'm a glass is half full type of person.  I see a great future for my generation as well as our country and the world.  To me being depressed is just negativity that ends up spreading to others and I always say that negativity is a drain on the soul.

3)    Of all the events in our current time............
      Which do you think has had the most impact on you and your generation?

That is such a great question.  I'd like to say that it is the war in Iraq which will forever shape our vision on how we deal with foreign governments that we don't like as a nation.  But I am concerned with general violence in our society and how my children will grow up.  It concerns me that people could prey on them or kill them on a whim.  I try not to think too much about that because as I have just answered, I am optimistic by nature.  Thank you so much for the questions.

Well..  hmmmmm...  any five questions???    Do you swallow??    JOKE!!!!!   Just kidding...   Just had to lighten the mood.    What I would ask is how you see yourself in five years, then in ten years.   Do you think you will be happy that you have made all the choices you have....  marriage, job, all of those things... ????    You are open and caring.. and I love knowing you, thank you for being the person you are.  :)

 

Well John, let me start by saying that I did say anyone could ask any question they wanted of me no matter how explicit.  Do you really want to know if I swallow?  What will you be doing with this information if I were to give it to you?  Is that how you men lighten the mood by talking all sexual about women and desiring us through dirty thoughts?  Anyway, I will answer your more intriguing questions now.  In five years I see myself with a family started and flourishing in my career.  In ten years, pretty much the same, and hopefully at least two children by then.  As for being happy by then, I anticipate being happy because I am positive by nature and would never contemplate that so much negativity in my life would end up my legacy.  I know I will be happy no matter what.  Thank you for the compliments, and I love having my ego stroked!  LOL

Well Katie, I think the first question is rather simple for me.  I went to college and left for a while and started working at the bank.  If I had to do it all over again I would have stayed in college and completed my four years by the age of 22 and not the age of 27.  It would have been five more years of a career or I may have gone for my Masters degree. 

 

You ask what one of my dreams is and having a loving happy marriage with a wonderful family of my own to watch grow has always been my ultimate dream.  I am part way there and hopefully the rest will follow in the future.  Choosing one food isn't easy, but let me give a crack at it.  I'd have to say Popcorn.  Just kidding!  I'd have to say salads because you can dress them up with anything  you want!  LOL  I hope that isn't cheating the question!  As for mountains or ocean, I'd have to say I like the mountain craters of Maui . . . here I can have the best of both worlds!  I do like the ocean best!  As far as strange things I may have done, well, I think the strangest things I may have done aren't the kind of things I could share in this journal.  Hehe  I'm a pretty tame girl, and I suppose conservative at times, I don't really have anything that I could tell you that was particularly strange.  I'm sorry.

Think back to Elementary School...What did you want to be when you grew up?  Did you get there?  Did you change your mind?  Or did you just get off-track and anticipate still achieving that dream?
If you did change your mind, do you remember when and why?

 

That is such a good question!  Well, when I was about nine years old I really thought I wanted to be a nurse.  I saw myself forever helping people and helping them through any hard time that they had while in the hospital.  Of course I didn't get there and it is hard to pinpoint a moment in time when I gave up on that.  I think as I grew, I still wanted to help people, but I lost the interest to be working in a hospital for some reason.  It wasn't until a couple of years ago I decided I could help people, but in a different way by becoming a counselor or a psychologist.  I really enjoy children and that is my long term goal, being there to help the defenseless child that needs to be taken care of, that needs be heard and understood.  I feel I have a knack for that.

 

I hope I will get a slew of questions to come.  I really enjoyed this.  Give me hypothetical situations.  Ask anything, I think this is loads of fun.

Putting Myself Out There

I was thinking of something clever to write or talk about tonight.  I was looking through my Cosmo and found some interesting sex things, but I didn't know how you all would feel about talking about those issues.  You will find I'm an open person willing to talk about, well just about anything within reason.

 

I really love finding out about others, getting to know their inner selves, their hopes, dreams, etc.  I also don't mind talking about or telling others where I'm coming from.  I know I don't have a huge readership at this point, but the few people I have connected with so far I find to be interesting, fun, family oriented, and of course nice.  I hope you feel that way about me as well.

 

So, I am giving you the chance to ask me any five questions you want.  It doesn't matter what the topic is.  It doesn't matter how explicit they may be, well without vulgarities in this forum is preferred.  The questions can be totally silly if you'd like.  I'd love to give you the chance to get to know who and what I am,  how I think, what I may do in situations that you may come up with.   So fire away if you'd like to get to know me better.

 

 I guess sometimes I used to be known as  Dear Ally to some people. LOL  If you stick around long enough I'm sure you will know Ally's advice whether you want it or not.   JK

A Not So Important Question

I feel so stupid to ask this, but can anyone tell me how to include my link to my journal when I am leaving comments on other people's journals.  I know it must be simple but I feel like such a moron not being able to figure it out.

 

I don't have much to report on today other than the weather is a little cooler, if you can call it that.  Ninety degree temps are a whole lot better than one hundred degree temps but it still makes you uncomfortable to be out in it. 

 

I'd better stop talking or you all will think I'm such a whiney baby.  LOL

Zombie

Hi everyone!  It was a pretty decent day at work today.  It was a Monday but on a Tuesday.  You gotta like these short work weeks.  I do love my job however.  It is everything that I have always wanted.  It sure beats working at the bank, being a teller, and putting up with all the customer antics.  I kinda miss going to school and spending so much time with my friend Heather.  I don't get to see her as much these days.

 

I had another not so good dream last night.  I felt like I was in a movie yet it felt so real.  You guys are probably gonna laugh at me.  These zombies were running amok and I saw them taking bites and ripping chunks out of people.  Then they noticed me and I could tell that I looked like a tasty little morsel for them.  It scared the bejesus out of me let me tell you.  Luckily I woke up and realized it wasn't real.  If anyone has a clue as to why I had this nightmare or is an expert on dreams please let me know.

I really don't have much else to talk about right now so I will let you all go on to your next journal, because I know this couldn't have been your last stop.  LOL  Have a good Hump Day everyone!  TTFN

Labor Day

Good Morning, or should I say good afternoon to many of you out there. 

 

I'm a bit beat after yesterday.  A long hot day at the racetrack.  It was an awful lot of fun!  Although this girl didn't melt entirely, I did wither!  LOL  Thank goodness for air conditioned suites.  We did get to go down into the pit area before the race.  Not much going on down there on a race day but nonetheless it was exciting.  All the people milling around.  We did get a good glimpse of Stevie Wonder who was there to give the "start your engines" command.

 

We had some decent food in the suites but of course the big hit with everyone was the open bar.  I don't want anyone to think I'm a lush but I did have me share of Crown Royals and Pepsi . . . yummy! 

 

Kasey Kahne didn't win, that was Jimmie Johnson, but he did have a good race and he is so cute!  Rene actually seemed to have a good time yesterday.  The previous time he went to the track with us he didn't care if he was there and was mad at me when some guys were talking to me and paying me a lot of attention.  This time he just relaxed, kicked back, enjoyed a few drinks and was in a very happy mood all day!

    

I noticed that Carrie Underwood has a new album coming out next month!  Yeah!  I am so ready for new music by her.  She is definetly my favorite musical artist.  She has a new song called "So Small" that you can listen to and here is the link to her official website. I'm getting ready to go out into the heat.  It is already 83 degrees here and the high is supposed to be 105.  Where we are going, the race track in Fontana for the Nascar race today and this evening the high temperature is supposed to be 107 degrees.  The chick is bound to melt away today.  I am looking forward to being in the skybox where it is cool.  I don't think I'd go if I had to sit out there in that sun.  I worry about the people that will get drunk, dehydrated, and may end up with health issues such as heat stroke or worse.

 

I do hope that Kasey Kahne will do better tonight than he did last night.  He is my Nascar eye candy!!
