Politics Are a Pain in the Neck

Hi everyone.  I'm here having another day of pain in my neck, although it isn't quite as intense today.  I have been popping one Motrin after another during the day and popping Vicodin in the evening.  What a life huh?

I chatted with my dear friend JP last night.  That helped to lift my spirits and I hope that he realizes that.  He is such a sweetie.

What is it with the Democratic primaries anyway?  It is confusing me and it seems in my estimation that so many voters in some of the biggest states aren't being allowed to have a vote that counts towards nominating our next nominee for President.  For the second time, the first being Michigan, and now in Florida, the voters who voted to give Hillary Clinton a victory will not be allowed to have delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Denver later this summer.  You tell me, is it fair to not have your vote counted.  The DNC apparently said that since these states moved up their primaries that no delegates will be seated.  The candidates weren't even allowed to campaign in these states.  I think that is a set up for a disaster both at the convention and maybe even the general election in November.

As I write this, McCain was just projected the winner  over Romney in a close election with Giuliani a very distant third.  He may drop out of the race soon and possibly endorse McCain.

That is all for my politics for tonight.  I'm sure you are all glad about that.  I hope you will have a nice and happy tomorrow.  Luv ya!  TTFN

My Sunday, Not Much Going On

Hi Everyone!  I hope you all had a good weekend.  I haven't done much of anything.  Just laying around nursing my poor neck back to health but it doesn't seem to be working.  I guess that collision was even worse than I thought.

Someone left a comment saying that I should have kicked the girl's a** that ran into me.  Then they suggested I should see if it was a rich person that ran into me so as that I could get a good payoff.  I'm not in life to go after people and be vindictive.  I'm not the conniving or physically angry type of person either.  That is just not me.  I will get what is do to me in due time.  I can tell you I am more interested in making myself feel better at this stage to worry about lawsuits down the road.  Thank you for your advice and concern.

Another bummer is that I didn't get to see Heather this weekend, nor did I have my honey here most of the time.  My dad did drop by to say hi.  He and mom are concerned about me, but of course their priorities and thoughts have been with my sister mainly recently.

I'd better get off of this thing before my neck gets to stiff.  Have a happy tomorrow everyone!  Luv ya!  TTFN

Hi There

Hi Everyone.  Thank you for the nice graphic Dianna! It's been raining her quite a bit the past couple of days and should do so for the next couple as well.  This has pretty much been the bright side of week thus far.

Upon reflection, I guess a lot of it has to do with what has been going on in my life.  First, of course, this is my sister Carrie and what she has had to go through lately.  That has been draining cause I worry so much.  She is home and doing pretty well.  She has now had a couple rounds of chemotherapy.  I wish I could take it for her so she wouldn't have to go through all of that.

Then, this week at work has been very trying on me.  It has been very emotional to say the least.  I cannot go into details but working with children has always been my goal in my career and I have had that chance lately.  Let me just say that what has going on is to bad that it would make you all cringe.  So very sad.   It is going to be a long process and I don't know if I am qualified to be the one that can help.  I will try but it may be beyond my training.

Last but not least is the traffic accident I was in this morning.  Some moron was obviously going to fast for the slippery conditions on the road, and didn't see me stopped, and by the time she realized I was stopped, BAM, she came skidding and slammed right into my rear end.  Of course she was driving an SUV so my little Honda Civic is pretty much destroyed.  I'm ok, or at least I think I am.  I am a bit sore and did go to the doctor before, the trooper I am, made it into work.  I have maybe a couple of bruises, nothing broken, but maybe some possible whiplash in my neck.

Anyway, that is about all for today.  I hope you have all had better weeks than me.    I will leave you with one survey.  I need it to cheer me up.  Luv ya!  TTFN

You Are Definitely Not a Hippie
In fact, you're so conservative, you make George Bush look like Jerry Garcia.
You're not big on experimentation or alternative lifestyles.

Fringe ideas tend to freak you out. You're pretty suspicious of hippies - or anyone who sympathizes with them.
As hippies would say, you are the establishment. You're part of the system... and proud of it.

Weekend

Hi everyone!  I don't really have much to talk about today.  Probably why I haven't been writing many entries lately.  My week was, I'd have to say, on the long side with my work and worrying about my sister.  I am such a worry wart by nature.

She is improving day by day.  They will be keeping her in the hospital until Monday and today she is supposed to start her first round of chemotherapy.  I wish I was there to help take care of her.  It is torture not being there with her, but I guess her husband along with mom and dad can take care of the situation.

Rene will be working this afternoon and evening.  I can use some fun time right now so Heather will be coming over and we will go out to lunch, shop, and just maybe take in a movie.

Have a good Saturday everyone! Luv ya!  TTFN

Sister, Surgery, Successful

Just a short update entry tonight.

My sister  had her surgery this morning.  No surgery is fun but the outcome was successful.  The good news is that they only had to take one ovary and left the other for the future where she can still hopefully have children if she so chooses.

The cancer has been very slow moving and did not spread.  That is the best news ever.  She will still have to go through Chemotherapy to kill all the active cells that still may reside in her.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.  Luv ya!  TTFN

Thanks and No I Don't Know Him!

I wanted to thank everyone in the help in trying to fix my journal.  I got it fixed thanks to Heather.  We went in to the entry in question and at the bottom we deleted just one blank line, and lo and behold the problem was solved.  Weird huh?  But I'm back to normal, well at least for my journal.  My lap top took a crap this week.  The driver got fried or something so it is being sent it.  Took it back to Best Buy, thank goodness Rene decided to buy a two  year extended warranty, it came in handy.

We are all three here, meaning me, Rene, and Heather spending a nice evening.  We watched the football games and they turned out how I thought they would.

I want to address a comment or two left on my journal.  Someone asked if I knew that John Schmidt dude.  Hell no I don't.  He is tormenting me and I only know him like most of you know him, right here online.  He wants to know me, that much is obvious.  So Jingleheimer, get someone else to dream about will ya?  LOL

I hope you will all have a pleasant Sunday and try not to be too naughty OK?  LOL  TTFN  Luv ya!

Help!

Someone help me, my journal is messed up for some reason.  My entry isn't exactly on the page correctly and the previous entries are way down at the bottom for some reason.  I am not the most computer saavy person in the world.  What can I do to fix it?

Weekend is Here and I don't know Jack Schmidt

Hi Everyone.  Hope you all had a good Friday.  I think I'm ready for the weekend.  I need some fun and happiness.  It's kinda been a fast week, yet a long one at the same time if that makes any sense to you at all.  Thank you to Emmi for the nice tag.

My thoughts continue to be with my sister who will be having that surgery on Monday.  I know she is so very nervous.  She doesn't sound like the normal Carrie that I am used to talking to.  I love you big Sis and I know you are going to be OK.  Wish I was there.

It seems like I have an admirer now.  Mr.  Schmidt seems to think I'd be a good fit for him, what do you think everyone?

You are willing to go pretty far for love - but not far enough to compromise your corevalues.
Love is a priority for you, and you'll go further than most people to hold on to someone you love.
But killing for love? Or even taking a bullet? Probably out of the question.
No matter what, you love yourself the most!

Worried Tonight

Hi Everyone.  Here it is Thursday already, the week is almost done.  I hope your weeks have been good for you.  Thanks to Donna for the nice tag.

Just wanted to let you know that my sister will be going in for a surgery this Monday.  It is pretty serious, she doesn't want me divulging why so I will leave it at that.  I am so worried right now for her.  My parents will be traveling to her house to be there for her.  I wish I could go.  Better yet, I wish she was here and having it done here.  I'd do everything I could to take care of her, she means so very much to me.  I will pray for her to be alright.

Before I have too many tears in my eyes I think I will say goodnight to you.  Hope you have a good Friday and weekend, you all deserve it.  Luv ya!  TTFN

This and That Tuesday

Hi everyone.  It has been an up and down day for me today.  Judging by the response on yesterday's entry I'm thinking that maybe not everyone got the alert.  Thank you to Donna for the nice tag.

I talked to my sister on my lunch hour and she is holding up ok.  She has not been at work ever since her medical problems hit about a month ago or so.  She is going through hard times physically and I really appreciate all the good vibes, thoughts and prayers for her and her husband.

On a good note, Hillary Clinton won the New Hampshire primary tonight on the Democratic side beating Obama who was supposed to be a be a 10  point winner according to the most recent polls.  John McCain won the Republican primary.

It was Elvis's birthday today.  So Happy Birthday to him wherever he is today because he is still alive, I just know it!!  LOL

I hope you will all have a wonderful tomorrow.  Luv ya!  TTFN

Today

Hi Everyone!  Well Monday has pretty much come and gone.  Here I am sitting at my dad's computer, we are watching the National Championship game between Ohio St. and LSU.  I love college football.  I guess of all sports, college football is my favorite.  This is the last game until September.

Would everyone please keep my sister in your prayers.  She is going through a hard time right now.  She wouldn't want me telling what is going on so I won't but please say a prayer for her if you get the chance.

Work was OK today.  There were a couple of clients that got pretty emotional today.  They finally were able to come to grips with a few things and I was proud of them.  Wish I could tell you more about it but I just am not allowed to.

Well, I really don't have much more to say tonight other than there is a sweet guy, besides my uncle, here in J-land and I am sure he would love it if you paid him a visit . . . here's the link!  The Hadonfield Myers Experience Thanks to Emmi for the nice tag.  Hope you all have a Terrific Tomorrow!  Luv ya!  TTFN

Q and A Time

Well it's been a fun interesting day.  Heather is still here, that crazy girl.  LOL  She wants to spend the night.  Should I let her?  Maybe I will make a poll, should Heather stay or should she go.  So check it out and vote will ya?  LOL

I have the first Q and A for 2008 on my journal.  I am answering these ten questions and I'd love it if you'd copy it into a journal entry of your own so other J-landers can learn something about you.

1.  If you could go back in time and start your life over from a particular point, when would that be and why?  I think that is easy for me.  It wasn't that long ago.  I would have finished my schooling when I was a little younger and maybe went for my Master's Degree.  But really I don't have regrets.

2.  Have you ever celebrated ringing in the New Year at Times Square in New York City?  Yes I have.  That was so exciting.  It was the year I graduated high school, after I graduated.  So ringing in the New Year 1999.  It was packed and I felt like a sardine . . . I think I even got groped a few times LOL.  But it was a blast, I highly recommend it to be at least done once in a lifetime.  Seeing it on TV doesn't do it justice.

3.  Have you ever been through a natural disaster?  If so what was it and when?  I remember the Northridge earthquake like it was yesterday.  It was quite scary waking up with everything shaking and rattling around you.

4.  Do you consider yourself a leader or a follower?  Well, I think I used to be a follower, but once I got out of my shy stage I think I have taken on more of a leader role at work and with life in general.

5.  What is the tallest building you have ever been in?  I had a chance to be in the twin towers observation deck when I went to New York.  Of course we all know that it doesn't exist anymore.  Kinda surreal.

6.  Have you ever seen a glacier in person?  If so where?  I had a chance to take a family trip to Alaska one year when I was young.  I remember seeing the white but the awesome bluish tint was breathtaking.  I don't remember the name of the glacier but it wasn't too far from Anchorage.

7.  How much was the most expensive meal you have paid for and where was it?  LOL  I'm lucky, I usually have ever had to pick up the tab so I have to say probably just recently at the Smoke House on Rene's birthday I spent like $60 when all was said and done.

8,  Have you ever attended an NFL game?  If so where was it and how long ago?  Yes, but it has been at least I'd have to say 15 years ago at the LA Coliseum for a Raiders game.  I can't remember who they played.

9.  If you could be in any city in the world tomorrow morning, where would it be and why?  I'd have to say Venice, Italy.  I've never been but it looks so romantic with those gondolas.  I love romance!

10.  What person in your life, that has departed this earth, would you love to spend just one more day with if you could?  That's easy.  My grandpa.  I so dearly miss him.  I was his little angel.

Bonus Question for extra credit:  Can anyone tell me what the square root of pie is?
Thank you for your participation.  Luv ya!  Don't forget to vote on whether Heather should weather the storm and stay the night.  I am a poet and yes I do know it!  LOL

51 More Weekends left in 2008

I figured I'd better get an entry in here.  Someone, that will remain nameless, has been bugging me to make an entry and thinks I'm slacking.   LOL

Well here it is the first Saturday of 2008.  The Christmas decorations are put away, the hooplah of New Year's is but a memory.  Now back to real life.  My sister has come and gone.  Seems like such a short time, it was over in the blink of an eye.  I do love the holiday season because of the love, friendship, and happiness it seems to bring into my life.

So what do I have planned for today.  Well, Heather is coming over soon and maybe we will go out and see a movie or do some shopping.  She keeps wanting me to go with her for a pedicure and manicure.  I am tempted . . . I mean, after all, a woman should allow herself to be pampered every now and again, right?

I hope you will all have fantastic weekends with lots of positive vibes.  Keep a smile on your face and love in your heart always!  Luv ya!  TTFN

New Year OFF 2 GOOD Start

Hi Everyone!  It was so much fun the past couple of days.  I was so exhausted when I got home last night.

On Monday night we went to a fantastic party at Heather's.  A lot of fun, dancing, celebrating, and yes I did get a little inebriated.  The next morning it was out of the house super early, I think I got about an hour and half of sleep.  We made it to Pasadena and had these real super seats.  It was great to see my city, the city of Burbank, win the Founder's Trophy.  I'd like to volunteer sometime to put the petals on the float, I think that would be fun.  It was a fabulous parade as usual, and if you haven't seen it in person then you ought to sometime.

Then when the parade was over we headed on over to the Rose Bowl.  I feel so spoiled . . . we went to the Tournament of Roses VIP tent for some wonderful hospitality.  Heather is used to this stuff but it still amazes me how much excitement doing these types of things adds to the enjoyment of the event you are attending.

The event itself, the Rose Bowl game was about as wonderful as it could have been.  SC stomped the Illini into the ground with a 49-17 victory.  I'm so proud of my school and so was Miss Heather!  LOL

Anyway, I hope your 2008 has started off in a positive and happy way, and if it hasn't give it time, there are still 364 days left this year being that it is leap year.  Have a wonderful Thursday.  Luv ya!  TTFN
